The Sweetest place on the Central Coast

The story of The Factory begins in 1982 with Bon Bon Fine Chocolate, a tiny store in Sydney’s harbour side suburb of Double Bay. The little shop quickly became known and loved for its supply of fine chocolates, both handmade and carefully selected from the best European boutiques.

Our founder Andrew, was captivated by the local store and fell in love with the world of fine chocolate. He decided to dedicate his life’s work to bring Bon Bon to a wider audience.

His passion and drive established him as the store manager in the late 1990’s, and in 2000 he headed the opening of a second store in Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building. In July 2010, Bon Bon Fine Chocolate opened a more spacious store at the historic Strand Arcade, in the heart of Sydney.

In February 2015, the decision was made to relocate Bon Bon Fine Chocolate to join its sister product, Nougat Limar in Gosford. Nougat Limar has been manufacturing on the Central Coast since 2007 in an ultra modern facility covering over 2000m².

With Bon Bon Fine Chocolate, Nougat Limar and Sydney Marshmallow Company under the one roof; our family grew, and the building was buzzing with life. Locals began to refer to it as  ‘The Factory‘ and the name stuck like toffee on a hot day.

At The Factory you can learn first-hand how we create our decadent confectionary on a guided Factory Tour available Wednesday to Friday, or if you just have a quick stop in mind, keep a look out for our porthole windows, which offer a sneak peek into where the magic happens.

Explore an immersive world of chocolate, nougat and marshmallow in our rustic retail store, open 7 days, which is stocked with a wide selection of  treats to choose from.

Sit back and relax with us at our cafe, open Wednesday to Sunday, offering everything from hearty all-day brunches to delicate patisserie items. We have the perfect treats to indulge you in any season; settle into winter with one of our signature Bon Bon drinking chocolates, or soak up the sun with your favourite flavour of our specialty home-made ice cream.

For our pint-sized chocolate connoisseurs, we offer our fun-filled and educational ‘Junior Chocolatier’ workshops, available every Weekend*, where children can learn from our creative makers.
