The Velveteen Rabbit
Marian Street Theatre for Young People in a joint venture with Knox Grammar School presents
The velveteen rabbit by Purni Morell
Music by Jason Carr
Based on the story by Margery Williams
“You mustn’t say that. He isn’t a toy. He’s REAL!”
The nursery, ruled over by Nanna, is full of wonderful toys – a rocking horse, toy soldiers, a train engine, a wooden lion, and a beautiful wooden boat. The boy loves them all, but he loves his velveteen rabbit best of all.
The Velveteen Rabbit will enchant children and adults alike with its enduring themes of love and friendship.
Marian Street Theatre for Young People’s young performers bring the fun and drama of the nursery to life on stage and introduce young children to new experiences in a relaxed theatre environment.
The Velveteen Rabbit is performed by the talented young performers of Marian Street Theatre for Young People, directed by Terry Ryan. Set design is by Deirdre Burges, lighting design by Grant Fraser and costumes by Marisa Newnes. Musical direction is by Andrew Chessher and movement direction by Peter Blackburn.
