110 years of Wyong Creek Hall
Wyong Creek Literary Institute received $11,599 from the Community Building Partnership to install ceiling fans and replacement to the back deck. The Hon. David Harris Member for Wyong presented the cheque to current President Mr. Paul Salmon.
Built in 1914 on land in Yarramalong Valley donated by Frederick Salmon, a local farmer, the whole community contributed materials and labour to construct this lovely heritage listed Hall.
110 years on Mr Paul Salmon is Fred’s Grandson, the Hall maintains a very real connection with the original founding member.
Over the years renovations began, and Mr Harris presented a cheque of $33,700 in 2021 to repair and modify the roof structure, build an access ramp to the deck, a new access door and disabled toilets.
Today, the hall is a popular location for private functions such as weddings and special occasions.
