88 ALLEY ASIAN FUSION REVIEW

It is so refreshing to have this Asian Fusion restaurant in our very own local Gosford RSL.

If you have not tried 88 Alley then don’t hesitate, the food is authentic, affordable, and delicious. The chef Kevin Zhang, previously of Sydney’s renowned Mr Wong’s and Sokyo restaurant, brings a convergence of contemporary and traditional Asian Cuisine to the Gosford RSL.

We had the Wok Fried Dry Spiced Mongolian Lamb (DF) with cumin, capsicum, onion, and chilli, the 88 Signature Egg Fried Rice (DF, GFO, VO, VGO) with Char Siu pork and prawn, the Sweet and Sour pork (DF) with pineapple and capsicum, (that was thankfully not battered and very tasty) the Twice Cooked Green Beans (DF) with pork mince and chilli and the Steamed Barramundi (SF, DF, GFO) which were freshly prepared and flavoursome.

Our chef for the day was Bedan. The service was fast and friendly, and we were able to eat our meal in our limited lunch break. This current menu will run until the end of March.

We did not try the dumplings, as we were saving them for when we come back to review the Yum Cha that will begin at lunch times in April. The dinner menu in April will be a la Carte and will incorporate Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisines.
