Our commercial fishing business has been operating from Kincumber for the past 20 years and we have the freshest fish in town, straight from our boats to our shop, which is located 400 metres from the Scenic Road roundabout towards Macmasters Beach.

Our catch consists of snapper, ocean jackets, bream, trevally, flathead mullet. Mullet being the catch of the month (April) and also Eastern Rock Lobsters. We also have local oysters, school prawns and a variety of frozen products.

Easter this year is in the middle of April which is the beginning of our Mullet season.

As our weather cools and the westerly winds start, the mullet run begins. This happens each year, when the mullet ‘ school up’ in large patches and head out of the estuaries and travel out to sea to spawn. Our licenced boys use the hauling nets to catch mullet travelling along the coastline before the fish head out to sea.
Mullet has the best omega 3 oil content, which is so good for us. The flavour is strong, but they are a great fish to eat.
