History of the event

For the past 32 years Town Criers from across Australia have gained permission from their own local Council and Mayor to represent their towns at the Championship weekend.

Town Criers compete against one another for the titles of:

  • Champion of Champions
  • Loudest Cry
  • Most Extravagant Outfit

Town Criers each perform 2 cries. One about their hometown and another about the host town – the Central Coast.

Three judges will then determine the winner.
