Gosford RSL exciting new clubhouse opens to big fanfare

Gosford RSL will open its landmark new clubhouse to the public on Wednesday 27 March following a major $50 million dollar development and 2 years of construction.
The 3-storey superclub will house a brand-new experiential dining precinct with 5 diverse culinary offerings, recreational spaces, a state-of-the-art conference and events centre, sports bar, on-site award-winning brewery and RSL museum, all under one roof. With a legacy spanning over 6 decades, Gosford RSL stands as a cornerstone of the community, boasting a robust membership of 25,000+.
The momentous project, which took 7 years of planning was the culmination of a collaborative partnership between the club, local contractor North Construction & Building, WMK Architecture and The APP Group.
Positioned at the north end of the existing West Gosford site, the impressive new building overlooks the Central Coast Hwy marking the gateway to Gosford and the Central Coast. The unveiling of the new building this week heralds a transformative chapter for the historic RSL club, underlining its commitment to the local community while bolstering the region’s advancement and prosperity with a forward-thinking approach.
The ground floor offers a grand entrance experience with its impressive foyer and porte-cochere entry leading visitors into the reception, servicing both the RSL and the adjoining motel, as well as a new RSL museum.
The Gardens, located on level 1, is a dynamic dining precinct and recreation hub with a fluid layout encompassing a bar, lounge, café, multiple dining areas, kids’ play zone, and teenage retreat. Here, diners can choose from 5 culinary adventures including modern Australian, Asian fusion, and Argentinian grill, alongside wood-fired pizzas and a café.
Award-wining Oak Haven Brewery has found a new home on level 2. Born in 2018 out of a vision to offer exceptional brews at an affordable price, the brewery is a testament to the club’s commitment to providing fresh, high-quality beer for its patrons. Currently brewing 6 core ales and 2 feature ales, Oak Haven has achieved significant recognition, most recently at the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards, securing 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals. The brewery’s first pale ale, ‘Sly Grog’, a crisp, delicate, and oh-so drinkable Kölsch-style beer, pays homage to the cheeky early members who exchanged coupons for alcohol in the basement.
Also housed on level 2 is The Grandstand sports bar, complete with multiple screens, competition sized snooker and billiard tables and a top-notch sound system, as well as The Gallery conference and events centre.
Club CEO Russell Cooper comments “At Gosford RSL, we’re proud to be a community-owned organization dedicated to entertaining and supporting our local community. Our new building makes a bold statement at the gateway to the Central Coast, providing exceptional hospitality spaces and premier conference and events facilities to entertain both locals and visitors. This project has not only created hundreds of jobs and injected millions into the local economy, but also led to the hiring of over 50 new staff members. We’re thrilled to unveil the new Gosford RSL Club, featuring the Gardens, the Grandstand, and the Gallery. While our building offers a wow factor and top-notch food and drinks, it’s our commitment to exceptional service that remains unchanged. The warm, personable, and professional service that defines Gosford RSL will continue to be our hallmark.”
