Spring into Whale Season – September & October a Magical Time on the Water

September and October are the skipper’s favorite time of year – and for good reason! Spring marks the tail-end of the Humpback migration, when the mothers and calves make their way south, cruising close to the coast of Port Stephens.

It’s during this special time that the ocean comes alive with playful, wide-eyed young whales who are being taught by their mothers how to jump, swim and show off those classic whale tricks.

The calves are full of mum’s milk, energy and curiosity, making for some of the most playful and close-up encounters of the season. The weather is warming, the waters are pristine, and the whales are putting on a show!

Join us on board Imagine Cruises for a 3-hour whale and dolphin watching adventure. We depart twice daily (weather permitting) from 1st June to 31st October from Nelson Bay – its whale watching at its most heartwarming, less than 2 hours from the Central Coast.
