The Peninsula wows visitors

There are so many amazing reasons to visit the Peninsula: Shops and Cafes are open, markets offering bric-a-brac and National Parks are in full winter bloom, several with stunning water views and walking trails. Central Coast Peninsula welcomes all visitors whole heartedly.

Although The Coastal Twist Festival and Red Carpet Day in conjunction with the ‘Show & Shine’ of vintage cars in Ettalong in September have been postponed due to Covid-19, there are still so many things to ‘wow’ you on the Peninsula.

From whale tours to pearl appreciation, galleries and cottage manufacturers, such as chocolate and cheese, the Peninsula is open.

The  whale watching tours depart from Ettalong Wharf; bookings can be made at Ettalong Diggers Visitor Information Centre. Tours depart every Sat & Sun from 9.15am & 1.15pm until 11th October.

With over 40 cafes and restaurants, the Peninsula is a food lover’s dream with top class venues and award-winning feature chefs. Seats are limited and due to Covid-19 restrictions, booking is essential.

And for physical exercise, why not hire a bike from the Boomerang Bike station in front of Ettalong Diggers on the Esplanade. The Esplanade along the Ettalong Foreshore pathway leads to many stunning waterfronts and to the Ocean Beach SLSC.

‘Have a little adventure’ in one of two surrounding National Parks – The Bouddi & Brisbane Water National Parks. These parks have numerous walking trails and lookouts such as The Bouddi Coast Coastal Walk and the Patonga to Peral Beach trail.

The Umina Beach Markets are held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at the Peninsula Recreational Precinct. A free shuttle bus service is available from Woy Woy and Ettalong Wharf, Ettalong Diggers with stops in Umina near Bunnings. Shuttle starts at Woy Woy at 9am.

The Galleria Ettalong Beach offers services and products, not easy to find elsewhere with a variety of international cuisine all situated in a Mediterranean inspired Village atmosphere, a visit the Galleria is a must. Shops and cafes are open from 9am to 4pm every Saturday, Sunday & Monday Public Holidays.
