Imagine Cruises Nelson Bay

Captain Frank Future from Imagine Cruises at Nelson Bay was one of the first Dolphin watch operators in Port Stephens. Creating a variety of cruises in 1995 which still operate today, including the 1 ½ hour Dolphin Watch Cruise and the 3 ½ hour afternoon Marine Discovery cruise which includes a dolphin interaction and guided snorkelling opportunity with all gear provided and a great sail back to port.

In 1998 Frank joined with Dr Olivia de Bergerac a clinical phycologist and they began taking guests swimming offshore with oceanic dolphins, another level of interaction. “These are a different species of dolphins than those we see in the bay” said Frank, “the offshore Common dolphin we swim with are far more engaging with vessels and become very excited when they see us humans in the water with them.” Frank and Olivia then joined with Andrew Parker to develop Dolphin Swim Australia which has an exclusive license in the Port Stephens Marine Park to conduct the Dolphin Swims.
